SPADE, Founded in 2016, set up in 2017, is the Society for Practical Application and Development of Economics, the ed-research society of Shivaji College. Built on a clear blueprint and a shared vision, it is a vibrant community where students come together to solve real-world problems. Using a research-driven approach, SPADE empowers its members to apply critical thinking and creativity to real-world issues. Through collaborative projects like documentaries, publications, and events, the society inspires its members to turn data into dialogue. Our Project

Documentary

Our in house documentary features leading voices of change makers, experts, and entrepreneurs sharing individual insights on the issues of the world. Through real life storytelling and guest interviewees, SPADE records various opinions as well as their personal experiences. They produce films that educate, inspire, and ignite important conversations; driving change and expanding knowledge.

Tatva

Tatva, which means "essence," is an in-house publication by SPADE. It is a student-led magazine that dives deep into issues that matter. It is a magazine wherein students actively contribute by publishing their own articles. Our annual magazine Tatva is not just something you flip through — it invites you to explore fresh ideas, creative work, and a space where you can truly step in and be a part of the experience.

Arthamanthan

Arthamanthan is SPADE's annual ISBN-published research booklet featuring student led research on contemporary issues relevant to society. Renowned for analytic depth and originality, it provides a credible platform for young researchers to have ideas presented, perspectives honed, and valuable contributions to scholarly thought and social insight annually.
